HISTORY & HERITAGE
The origins of the brand date back to 1617, when Anthony Church began crafting handmade shoes in Northampton.
Church & Co Ltd was officially founded in 1873 by Thomas Church, alongside his wife Eliza and their sons Alfred and William, when production moved into the Maple Street factory in Northampton.
Over more than a century, Church’s evolved into a globally recognized name – playing a vital role in the development of the British shoemaking industry between the wars.
As it expanded internationally, Church’s received the Queen’s Award to Industry from Queen Elizabeth II. Since 1999, the brand has been part of the Prada Group, marking a new chapter of modernization, global expansion, and innovation – while preserving its artisanal DNA.
